Is your high voltage probe properly
adjusted for your oscilloscope?
High voltage generator for high voltage probe calibration. The commonly used
high-impedance high-voltage probe has adjustment points for optimal waveform
observation on the oscilloscope used.
For example, a 1000:1 probe would provide a 1kV pulse output and a 1MΩ terminated
oscilloscope would provide a 1V signal. By the way, when a 1V signal is
applied, only 1mV is output. This will not calibrate the probe. Use
a high voltage probe that has been properly calibrated by giving it the
correct signal. A high-voltage calibrator is essential for this.
